Freya gave birth to two girls in
the early hours of 31st March
2005. Unlike Freya's two previous litters, the kittens were very
similar to each other. They were both tawnies. We named them
after Norse Goddesses following the theme we have stuck to so far.
They were called Northsprite Laufey (Pet name Tiri) and Northsprite Mani
(Pet name Calli).
Laufey is a fire giantess
and the mother of Loki. Mani is the moon goddess.
They were lovely, playful kittens and gave us much joy before they left.
We were also very pleased that both kittens will stay together. They
now live with Dominique and her family in North Shields in the North East.
Once
again, Freya was mated with a black silver
stud cat called Allagash Texasdots. 'Tex' is owned by Jacky Atkinson. Tex was
also the
father of Freya's first and second litters.
Here's a few pictures of the family as they grew. Enjoy!

Freya with the girls in the nest.
This is the first litter we have had where they have all been the same
sex. At this stage we were unsure what sex they were (it's difficult
to tell)!

This is Laufey. She was the
first born.

And this is Mani. Their colour
was very similar, but Mani's spots are bigger.

This is the girls aged two weeks.
Eyes open and looking cute!

Laufey (left) and Mani aged around 3
weeks.

At 4 weeks they begin to try some
solid food. This is a picture of their first try. Mani tucks
in while Laufey waits to see what her sister thinks!

We brought our new cat Thickthorn
Siguna home when the kittens were about five weeks old. They hit it
off straight away! Here's the three of them relaxing (probably after
a couple of hours playing chase)!

Here's the two girls posing for the
camera aged about 7 weeks.

Laufey (right) with their adopted big sister Siguna (centre).
Back

We often hear from Dominique who
owns Laufey and Mani. Here's a lovely photo she sent us of the girls
relaxing..
